Jodie Guirey designs and creates a demi-fine jewelry line that is connected to her lifestyle and experiences as a second-generation Filipina living in Los Angeles. JG aims to add to the conversation of sustainability and ethical values within the jewelry industry and to bring aura to each piece that is created.
All original pieces are handmade to order by herself and by a small team of passionate jewelers in the Historic Jewelry District in LA.
Various techniques are used to create our jewelry including handcrafting, hand sculpting for lost wax casting, and CAD printing.
Jodie Guirey is a second generation Filipina raised in southern California. Her innate entrepreneurship and curiosity with form and design developed at a young age from her parents.
Jodie attended Otis College of Art and Design to major in Product Design, and soon started work in the fashion industry. While creating jewelry to fulfill her design needs, she ultimately gained a following. Her love for jewelry intensified and she decided to quit her full time job to attend FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising to study Jewelry Design. Her studies included intense training from jewelry professionals on the techniques of metal smithing, lost wax casting, illustration, and computer aided design. Jodie continues her education at GIA/Gemological Institute of America. She currently holds a Colored Stones Essentials Certificate with a goal of achieving her Graduate Gemologist certification. She continues to research and experiment with jewelry through her namesake collection. Jodie lives and works in Los Angeles with her rescue pup Pancake.
